We welcome the additional fire safety visits that were undertaken by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service to reassure tenants and inform them about fire safety in their homes.

In respect of direct payments, DWP has committed to provide budgeting support and make payment exceptions to a proportion of tenants. It has funded six direct payment demonstration projects to inform practice on direct payments.
NatureScot (formerly Scottish Natural Heritage) state in their submission that
Scotland’s People & Nature Survey indicates that there were 643 million visits to the outdoors in 2019-20, of which 295 million visits (46%) were accompanied by a dog; dog walking was the primary motive for 42% of visits
Therefore, dog walking is a significant reason for people accessing the countryside, and NatureScot point to the contribution of dogs to national outcomes on accessing the countryside.
Recently, I was pleased to visit a fire station with FBU colleagues to better understand how things work on the ground in relation to safety and decontamination.
Eilidh and I made sure that an extra breakout was added because we recognised that being on screen for such long periods of time can be difficult and exhausting for people.All the feedback so far has suggested that the online option helped allow others to be in that breakout session and that the experience overall was positive.
