Motion debated, That the Parliament recognises the huge distress that can be caused to the victims of rape and other sexual crimes if accused persons are allowed to conduct their own defence and can cross-examine victims, and urges the Scottish Executive to bring forward legislation as a matter of urgency which will bring the rights of victims in such cases into line with the new rights of victims in England and Wales.
