It is not for me to tell the local campaign how best it should go about its business to secure the retention of the airfield, but I would wish to work with the local authority, the enterprise agencies and all other concerned parties to ensure that any potential economic impact is addressed.
Does the First Minister agree that the best way to promote Gaelic language and culture is through education and by giving them a higher profile in the media?
Will he confirm that decisions will not be imposed from the centre and that local agreement will be sought, so that communities can live in peace better than they do at the moment? I believe strongly that the best decisions will be made locally by local authorities and local police forces through engaging communities.
The situation in England and Wales has been referred to several times today and it appears that the opportunity to continue in employment is available to prison officers there. It seems to be at best anomalous that the matter is only under discussion here, but I am sure that there is a lot of background information of which I am not fully aware.
Does he agree that the benefits to Scotland of any such bid would be, at best, tangential? Most important, will he guarantee that Scottish sportsmen and sportswomen will not suffer a reduction in funding as a result of that bid?
I think that partnership between the Executive and local councils across Scotland is the best way of delivering improvements to our public transport network.
It is for the primary care trust in conjunction with the dental profession locally to agree how best to target the funding. The minister will appreciate that, although £107,000 sounds like a lot, it does not fund an enormous number of dentists.
