The Public Petitions Committee took evidence from the petitioner on 26 March. Some members of this committee are members of the Public Petitions Committee and I know that other members of this committee attended the meeting on 26 March for that item.
Such distinctions are sometimes important. With the best will in the world, ministers cannot fix systemic issues relating to what others are doing to collect data on their behalf.
I doubt that. We are all trying to find the best possible question time to ensure that members can examine the Government's actions and hold it accountable.

It is therefore for the DSS to decide how they should best be administered. The Scottish Executive will continue its regular dialogue with UK Ministers on how the Scottish Executive and the UK Government can best work together to tackle such issues.
