Does the minister agree that prevention is always better than cure and that, alongside the efforts to get knives off the streets, we need to stop them getting there in the first place?
It is an equally difficult issue for the third-world countries that are having to deal with some of the stuff that they have had dumped on them. There is an imperative on us to get this right. A moral imperative.Okay.
Perhaps the clerks could look into what the green paper is about and the committee could then decide whether it would be worth while getting involved. Is the committee content at this stage to get a note on the paper to which Michael Matheson refers so that we know exactly what it is and what its contents are?
