Bute House is the only Scottish Executive building which is categorised as a residence, and procedures to ensure that residents, including visiting dignitaries etc, have access to medical advice or assistance have been in place for some time.
Once people get to that point and have admitted that they have a problem, they do not want to hang around and wait for eight weeks before getting some advice.
Perhaps we should consider how we might best get a non-MSP view on the issue. I suggest that, at an appropriate time, I should send a letter to MSPs on behalf of the committee and that we should consider the principle of whether we want to find other avenues for getting people's views.
It is not just the fact that someone gets a degree that matters; the sort of degree that they get and what they can do with it matters, too.The credo that is being introduced in England will leach over the border.
