Another of my un-success stories is that, in my 26 years as a councillor, I made repeated attempts to sort out the holidays in Edinburgh and Lothian, but failed totally.
A short-life group worked on the matter, and new guidance has recently been issued.Before I deal with the issue of research, I will touch briefly on other Executive measures.
The conclusion of the Executive's paper ties it all up. Paragraph 7 (ii) reads: "that practical mechanisms for dealing with complaints against Assessors are in place in most local authority areas and are currently being established in the others."

To ask the Scottish Executive how many visits the Chief Executive of the Scottish Prison Service has made to each local prison establishment since his appointment.
This is the last meeting of the committee in the current session of the Scottish Parliament.Agenda item 1 is to consider whether to take in private items 6 and 7, which are draft papers. The committee's normal practice has been to consider draft papers in private.
