However, the Executive argues that, in its interpretation, the drafting of article 11(3) is not such a problem as we have made it out to be, although it has agreed to make the changes at the first legislative opportunity.

Those matters have been raised with the Local Government and Transport Committee: the Executive will take due cognisance of the points that the committee raises. Of course the Executive will seek to work with the Electoral Commission, which is the body that is responsible for much of the work that we do in elections.
