The important point is that forced disclosure could put our best researchers—or even those who are not our best researchers—at a competitive disadvantage on projects and could mean that the necessary researchers will not come to Scotland.
Given what Yvonne Strachan has said, what positive examples have you set to encourage best practice in that regard? In general, we make information available in the form that people ask for.
We must also ensure that learners understand their responsibilities, so we must provide them with the best advice on how to take advantage of the scheme.
That is a view that I think is shared by the Scottish people. At the start of this new Parliament, the best way to ensure stability and consistency in government is to look at what unites the parties in this chamber, not at what divides them.
