I do not know whether you noticed the comments of Nicholas Crafts at the latest Allander series lecture. He suggested that, if we had the same life expectancy levels as the rest of the UK, at 2001 levels that would have meant a 21.3 per cent increase in gross domestic product performance for Scotland.
