I would find it useful to hear expert advice on the harmfulness of pornography, at a meeting in which we concentrated on the arguments for and against the proposition. I am new to the committee, so I have not been involved in members' consideration of the petition.
There is a sense of being in limbo. People do not know when the new programme will start. Some have suggested that it will start on 1 January; others have suggested that it will be spring 2007 before it gets going.

The bill is small and it might not look as though much work would be needed to get it right, but I know that the non-Executive bills unit did a lot of work to get the bill to the Parliament and to deal with the amendments.
