I understand that the Scottish centre for information on language teaching and research in Stirling is in active discussion with Executive officials on that point. We hope to produce a strategy by, optimistically, later this year or, more realistically, early next year.

That is an extremely positive development.I agree with Nanette Milne's second point, too. We are doing a lot in relation to the recruitment and retention of nurses, but the development of specialist nurses and nurse consultants represents another important way of providing more opportunities for nurses and, even more important, better care for patients.

The fact that the last Scottish university to offer Latin and Greek teaching courses is ceasing to do so is no reason to let standards slip. I point out that under "Expenses" the paper should read "de minimis" rather than "de minimas".We will begin by considering the second recommendation, which relates to the remit for the investigation.

Will she consider the wider benefits that could be achieved by the Executive taking it on board? Sarah Boyack makes an excellent point, with which I agree and which should command a greater priority, because a number of demolitions are taking place throughout Scotland as a result of our investment programme and the housing policies that we have developed.
