Everything in the health service is being changed all at once; new contracts are being introduced and more people are required to feed them.I am very hopeful that the group will find some solutions.
We certainly need to come to a quick decision on what we do early in the new year once we have finished stage 2 of the Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Bill so that witnesses can be geared up.
The next heading is the "Scottish Commissioner for Public Appointments". Do members want to invite the new commissioner to give us a briefing following their appointment?
I fully support the convener's comments. New members especially find it helpful to receive the legal briefing—which is not part of the meeting as such—in private, so any questions can be raised before the formal meeting starts.
If such organisations are held to be better informed about volunteers and employees, will that create new liabilities and therefore mean new costs for them?
