To ask the Scottish Executive, following the publication of Choosing our Future: Scotland’s Sustainable Development Strategy in December 2005, which states that complex funding streams caused problems for those seeking to promote local environmental regeneration projects, when it will bring forward proposals to simplify the range and scope of these streams and on what date any new funding will be available. We expect to bring forward proposalsto simplify the range and scope of funding streams for local environmental regenerationprojects by the end of this financial year and to implement new arrangements forfunding as soon as possible thereafter.
To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will consider improving road access into and out of the Seafar and Ravenswood areas of Cumbernauld as part of the upgrade of the A80 to address the issue of limited access when traffic is diverted from the A80 to the A8011 as a result of accident or works on the A80. A new access road would be providedto the existing Seafar cottages which would not connect directly to the new M80and would therefore provide constant access.
Two ofthese jobs resulted from civil service dispersal – the posts were previously basedin the Scottish Charities Office within the Crown Office. Thirty-four new postshave been created with the establishment of OSCR.
Population is taken intoaccount in the new police formula. The fire formula is still under review anduntil new arrangements are agreed funding will continue to be allocated on thebasis of establishments.
