As Christine said, it is the bureau that will decide whether the Justice and Home Affairs Committee can visit prisons. It will not be the whole committee, but groups of members, who make those visits.

The Scottish Executive has no plans to arrange a ministerial visit to the Ballinluig junction. However, officials have visited the site on many occasions to meet with local community representatives, Tayside Police and BEAR Scotland Ltd.
I was not thinking of Stewart Maxwell's bill, although I know one or two people who might be praying against that. I was interested in paragraph 26, the opening sentence of which mentions that "some 1,500 negative instruments" come before Parliament each session.
I tried to indicate earlier that we should follow the protocol and code of conduct to the best of our ability. That means encouraging individual Scottish citizens to pursue their constituency MSP or one of their regional list MSPs.
Political broadcasting is no doubt under pressure—people are holding the line as best they can and trying to think about new ways of going about it.This is an inherently difficult area.
