To ask the Scottish Executive how many non-departmental public bodies have a specific statutory duty to promote race equality and what discussions ministers are having with those bodies without such a duty to ensure that they also promote race equality in their organisations.

In these instances the best current estimates would be availablefrom the promoter. Generally only motorways and trunk roads are promoted byScottish ministers directly.

There needs to be much better understanding of the value of intellectual property and of equity share in new companies if new businesses are to be nurtured.
