To ask the Scottish Executive how many lone parents have gone back on to income support having finished employment placements found through the New Deal in Scotland. The New Deal for Lone Parents programme does not offer temporary employment placements that would remove people from Income Support.

The Scottish Executive is at present considering a Regional Selective Assistance application from Signum Circuits. However no new awards of Regional Selective Assistance may be made until agreement has been reached with the European Commission on the detail of the new Assisted Areas map.

Making relationships visible is very important in showing that—as Tim Hopkins highlighted—such people are living at number 26 and number 32b and that, on Tuesday morning, they put their bin bags out like everybody else.
To ask the Scottish Executive whether the smart card system to be employed as part of the new concessionary travel scheme will be used solely for travel purposes or whether it will be a multifunctional card.

Her response is as follows: In 2005-06, it is expected that around 400 new homes will be approved under the Homestake shared equity scheme.By 2007-08, we plan that around 1,000 new homes per year will be approved under the scheme.
