That amendment seeks to amend the new general appeal provision in section 48A, which was added at stage 2 as a catch-all measure to provide an appeal facility to the sheriff and thence to the Court of Session in relation to decisions on medical treatment. As Mr Gallie has pointed out, amendment 144 seeks to widen the appeal provisions in section 48A.
