Our comprehensive smoking cessation efforts, combined with our smoke-free Scotland legislation, have contributed to the chief medical officer's recent statement regarding his perception that lung cancer could be a disease of the past in Scotland a few decades from now. That is heartening news; nonetheless, we continue our efforts.
