Accordingly, I have made submissions as part of the local and national consultation processes that are being run on the transport strategy to make the case for crossrail, which I believe to be a comparatively cheap way of making a huge impact on congestion.
We are considering the 2021 target, its underpinning environmental and economic aims and the best way to achieve them as part of the consultation on the development of the national transport strategy, which was launched on 20 April 2006.
I can only strongly encourage and work with our agencies to ensure that we have the best possible service. In its first two years of operation, the Rosyth ferry generated around £150 million for the Scottish economy for only £1 million of Government investment.
I would not have thought that we necessarily want parliamentary time, but the Parliament will have to approve a report. What would be best—to hold the report until there are a lot of changes to standing orders, or to put it up for approval as soon as possible?
As an example of good practice, "rethinking construction" centres have been launched in Northern Ireland and Wales, at which people can propose new ideas and talk about best practice.
