To ask the Scottish Government what action it is taking to ensure that safe care home visiting can take place. (S5T-02571) We continue to take a number of steps to support safe visiting.
I am absolutely delighted that St Brendan’s primary school has agreed to host such a visit. My private office will be in touch in due course to arrange a mutually convenient time for us all to attend a visit that I think will be really worth while.
One of the challenges that we face in Scotland is that we have a much more rural hinterland. Everyone loves to visit parts of Scotland such as the one that I live in.
Calls to Forth Valley via the NHS 24 line are triaged into the following categories: a doctor to be phoned; patients to attend a centre within one hour, two hours or four hours; and patients to receive home visits within one hour, two hours or four hours.
To answer James Kelly’s question, I recognise the value and importance of family links and the impact that the restrictions, and the suspension of visits in particular, can have on those who are in custody and, importantly, on their families too.
