The mandatory consultees have agreed the new process, which is why amendment 1 has been lodged.Under the new proposal, the mandatory consultees will be fully and properly engaged in and consulted on each document.
If the amendment is intended to give the courts new powers of interpretation, which could result in the courts looking behind the terms of the power, we would oppose it on policy grounds.
