(S2O-04827)Cathy Jamieson: I met with representatives of the Association of Visiting Committees on 6 December last year and advised them of my intention to hold a review of the role of Prison Visiting Committees.
The Subordinate Legislation Committee has drawn the order to our attention on the ground that the inconsistency in the drafting approach to the order is such that, in the view of that committee, it could be considered to be drafted defectively. The latest reporting date on the matter for the Health and Community Care Committee is 10 March.
