That is a separate anecdote, but the point is that—whether it regards Viagra or something else—new matters are being addressed. That is not simply an amendment.
A real issue of cost pressures therefore arises.Much of the increase is for good reasons: new medicines are available or new uses have been found for existing medicines.
We would like the Executive to review and determine whether, in light of that new statutory framework, what it expects from LEFs can best be delivered through the LEF structure or through the new community planning arrangements.
It would not have to be a long meeting, but members—particularly those who are new to the committee and who might have some new thoughts—need to get a feel for how we work as a committee and for our relationship with the minister in relation to his Treasury function.

To ask the Scottish Executive how many new cases of diabetes have been reported through the NHS in each of the last 25 years and, of these, how many have been reported in children.
