The Audit and Inspection Group, which met on 9 August 2005, agreed that: it is worthwhile to consider further how compliance with the statutory duty to promote race equality may be built into existing audit and inspection processes; the group will meet on a quarterly basis, during which time a remit for this group will be developed, andfuture meetings should focus on sharing information on best practice, and should encompass other equality strands, such as disability and gender.
