I agree that the Executive has plans to address many of the concerns that the petitioner has raised, and on that basis I suggest that we do nothing further with this petition, because some of the measures, particularly the reporting to the board, the requirement for solicitors to report at particular procedural stages, and indeed to submit a report once a year, would take care of many of the points raised, which relate back to the petitioner's claim that a certificate for legal aid, which was issued to a firm of solicitors in 1991 for the purposes of defending his heritable property, was withdrawn in 1996 when the firm failed to put up any defence on his behalf.
