President John F Kennedy hit the nail on the head when he said that"we prefer world law in the age of self-determination, to world war in the age of mass extermination"and that"if a beachhead of co-operation may push back the jungle of suspicion, let both sides join in creating a new endeavour, not a new balance of power, but a new world of law, where the strong are just and the weak secure and the peace preserved."
