Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Education in Scotland has a new remit to get its cycle of inspections in line with the time scale in which children go through either primary school or secondary school.
An important part of that is that people who are coming out of prison are provided with near-automatic access to the new deal scheme, so that they have the opportunity to get employment and, one hopes, to be able to lead law-abiding lives.

I am pleased that one of the reasons such changes are taking place in Edinburgh is the major development of the new royal infirmary. I look forward to the services that will be available on that site when it opens.
