Official Report Meeting date: 17 December 2002

European Committee, 17 Dec 2002

I have briefly gone through the paper, but rather than run through all my points at this time of the day, I invite members to make comments to Stephen Imrie or David Simpson.
Official Report Meeting date: 6 November 2002

Standards Committee, 06 Nov 2002

We have talked about rationalisation of cross-party groups, but it is rather extreme to suggest that all groups should have one-word headings. However, I take the point that the member makes. I hope that the establishment of this group does not signal a move towards groups being described by their acronyms.
Official Report Meeting date: 25 June 2002

Rural Development Committee, 25 Jun 2002

I do not know whether other members have had that concern raised with them.We could write to the minister and put that point to him but we cannot hold up the statutory instrument as we have to report on it by 2 September, which means that we have to deal with it today.
Official Report Meeting date: 30 April 2002

Rural Development Committee, 30 Apr 2002

No member has intimated that they wish to speak on them. I have only two points to make on the Less Favoured Area Support Scheme (Scotland) Regulations 2002.
Official Report Meeting date: 16 April 2002

Subordinate Legislation Committee, 16 Apr 2002

The only problem is whether the wording of the enabling power provides sufficient vires. Do members wish to raise that point? We should ask the Executive to justify the vires.
Official Report Meeting date: 19 March 2002

Subordinate Legislation Committee, 19 Mar 2002

Until the Executive responds, there is not much sense in going into the other more detailed points on the instrument. We should also ask the Executive whether it is time that it introduced a consolidating instrument.
Official Report Meeting date: 27 February 2002

Standards Committee, 27 Feb 2002

I am happy with the motion. However, I have one point of clarification. Is the reference in paragraph 9.4.2 to"briefing provided to members by Parliamentary staff for particular members' information only"a new addition to the code of conduct, or has it always been in there?
Official Report Meeting date: 15 January 2002

Local Government Committee, 15 Jan 2002

The proposed terms of reference and the adviser's duties are given in a list of bullet points in the briefing paper. Do members wish to take anything out of, or add to, that list or the person specification?
Official Report Meeting date: 15 January 2002

Public Petitions Committee, 15 Jan 2002

We are asked to note that additional correspondence and to take no further action, other than to confirm to the petitioners that the committee noted the points that they raised and that the Education, Culture and Sport Committee was sent a copy of the petitioners' letter.
Official Report Meeting date: 11 December 2001

Rural Development Committee, 11 Dec 2001

Does anyone disagree? I do not disagree, but I have a point. If the matter is to be put on a future agenda, can members have the details and papers again?
