(S1O-1560) We are very aware of the interest of universities, colleges and students in the arrangements for the new scheme and we are publishing a consultation document next month.
We are also announcing capital allocations, which should allow for a further 100,000 council homes to be improved over the period ahead. Finally, the new housing partnership programme is expected to tackle dampness in a further 100,000 homes in Scotland, some of them in rural areas.
I hope that rural Scotland will take full advantage of the opportunities that will be created when the new Horizon computer system is connected to post offices across the country in 2001.
Local Produce (Retail Outlets) To ask the Scottish Executive what plans it has to introduce new planning regulations or guidelines that would allow planning authorities to stipulate minimum shelf space for local produce when granting planning permission for major new retail outlets.
Do you think that ministers should approve a body before the issue goes to the new funding council, as opposed to a decision of the new funding council going to ministers?

To ask the Scottish Executive whether the spread of sea lice is an important factor in determining the location of new fish farms. The management and control of sea lice is one of a number of factors that are taken into account when considering the proposed location of a new salmon farm development.
