To assist the committee's consideration of the matter we forwarded, on 26 November, to the committee clerk a summary of the responses received and details of how we have subsequently amended the code.
The latest information that we have is that Disclosure Scotland is now turning around within three working days applications that are straightforward and do not have to be referred to police forces or elsewhere.It is difficult to estimate the total number of new applications that might be required.

All we can do is provide pointers to directions that might be taken rather than evaluate what option is the best, as we are not competent to do that. If we were to get that competence, it would take a lot longer to get the report done.
