Please clarify why it is considered appropriate for the proposed new section 1(3)(a) of the Equality Act 2010 (in respect of Scotland) to refer to "Scottish Ministers" without further reference to the Government agencies specified in the policy note.

Our concern is that, if it is the intention to permit people who have previously brought actions to bring fresh actions—which it clearly is—there is a provision in new section 17C that will eliminate a large group of those people at source.
Someone made the point earlier that there is a hell of a lot more work to be done in police forces throughout Scotland, outside Lothian and Borders, where there is best practice. We hope that people will learn from that best practice.
On parts of the line, especially down near Gretna, we would like to reinstate the former twin track—it will not be a new twin track, as we will just be putting back the twin track that was once there—but that could be quite cheap.
As part of strengthening flood prevention measures, we are looking at the best possible environmental practice, which has to be taken into consideration.
As I have said, caring staff come and go. How can they be updated with new information? They are not recalled to ROSPA training courses to be given the latest information.
We are likely to receive requests to visit numerous sites, so if members agree, I am happy to agree the final site-visit timetable and agenda on behalf of the committee.
