To ask the Scottish Executive how much has been spent on the New Deal for Young People in Scotland to date and what proportion of the entire New Deal for Young People budget this figure represents.
Earlier, we heard from ACPOS—you did not hear this because you were at the Communities Committee meeting—that the process is likely to be evolutionary and that existing systems, rather than a big new IT solution, will underpin the new procedures.
During the two four-day holiday periods over Christmas and the new year, demand for the service increased by 15 per cent, but response times were at an historically high level.
Ministers will certainly do everything that they can following the transition, which has now happened, to ensure that the new contractor is up to speed in getting the systems in place as effectively as possible.
