To ask the Scottish Executive how much has been spent on the New Deal for Young People in Scotland to date and what proportion of the entire New Deal for Young People budget this figure represents.
There is much talk in committee and in Parliament of a new politics and a new consensus, but the bill gives us a clear example of the listening Government failing to listen.
No decisions have been taken about extending these but experience gained will inform any future development of New Deal.Progress2work is part of the New Deal Next Phase development and is already operating in West Dunbartonshire.
I hope that the watchfulness of the Finance Committee and of the Parliament will be repaid by an Executive that not only tells out the good news—it is very good news—about its budget plans, but resolves to say what it means and mean what it says.

To ask the Scottish Executive what percentage of people from (a) New Deal for Young People and (b) New Deal 25 plus entered jobs that were not sustained beyond 13 weeks duration in each year since these programmes began.
