I know that that day is problematic for some members, but that is the slot that we were given because we thought that Parliament would be meeting on the morning of Wednesday 26 June. Apologies for that, but I do not think that we can do much about it.
In the intervening period, the Executive has informed me that the judicial appointments consultation paper will not be published until 17 April, so that item has been put back to a later meeting.During the Easter recess we will send information about the first meeting after the recess, on Wednesday 26 April, to members' home addresses.

That brings us back to my serious concern about the fact that the temptation is always to delay big new public transport projects. There are always good reasons to hold back, but a delay now is also a delay at the end of the process, because it is difficult to catch up with a delay once it has happened.It is important for Scotland to proceed with our major new public transport projects, which have pretty wide cross-party support.
I am pleased that Tom McCabe secured the debate, and that we have had an opportunity to hear contributions from different sides of the chamber on how the issue can be furthered in future years. Meeting closed at 16:26.
Jack McConnell is actively involved in the strategy: he has visited China and has encouraged people from China to come to Scotland—he is active in developing the partnership.
As members would have to be in Aberdeen anyway, and as three members of the committee are from the Aberdeen area, we had thought that it would be a good idea to tag on a committee meeting to the Aberdeen visit. However, that might give rise to problems and I would welcome members' views on the suggestion.
