I support what Christine Grahame has just said. I remind the convener of our visit to the Glasgow sheriff courts. The people we met there showed a complete lack of understanding of why the Scottish Parliament should have two justice committees.

That has resulted in the suggestion that we should establish a longer period of notice.The paper recommends that we accept the Presiding Officer's suggestion of a three-day period of notice.
Richard Baker will correct me if I am wrong, but my recollection is that that had no adverse effect. Although a few new objectors were identified, that did not significantly affect what had gone before.I would not change my previous answer.
What would be the Executive's reaction to such a system? It is possible to devise new systems. The Executive does not suggest that it has a monopoly of wisdom in that area.
