To ask the Scottish Executive what the outcome was of the Common Agricultural Policy reform negotiation at the Agriculture Council on 25 and 26 June 2003. The Agriculture Council reached agreement on a CAP reform package at around 7.00am on 26 June after an all-night sitting.

Given that there is gridlock on the M8 between junctions 26 and 29, as the director of Renfrewshire Council pointed out, the ideal solution is to get traffic off the road before junction 29.That is the basis of our proposal.

We are not experts, but we think that for about £25 million it would be possible to have a 550-place prison at Peterhead. That would include a new visits facility, a new ops room, various other facilities that have been suggested and a new block, costing about £17 million.
