However, I was glad to hear that in February, the Minister for Health and Community Care, Susan Deacon, promised 50 new doctors and 50 new nurses for rural practices.
We have the opportunity to seize and harness the positive opportunity that can be brought to Scotland by the influx of a new population with new skills, or we can preside over the growth of a marginalised and excluded group that will be living in great poverty.

We must constantly keep this under review. If there is new evidence, or if the previous evidence was inadequate and did not cover the field well enough, we should definitely review it.
All the staff—wherever they come from—should understand that they are entering a new organisation. A lot of thought should perhaps be given to ensuring that the new organisation has the right kind of culture and that the staff accept the cultural change.The final points centred again on the idea that all four organisations should have parity within the new organisation.
