You have given me considerable reassurance on that point. I am concerned to assert the rights of the committee and to ensure that account is taken of our position.
As arguments about sensitivity and the information that people are willing to provide can be made about every question in the census, it would be a lost opportunity if a question on income were not included. Whether that would be done best within the package that we have talked about is debatable.
I certainly agree with the first two points. The clerk has given us a rough estimate of the timetable that we could follow in order to finish the inquiry by the summer.
If we do not do that, members will, in my opinion, be voting to throw away £1.175 million. Convener, I do not often raise points of order but I think that this is a point of order.
