More than one in three children in lone parent households suffer long-term illness or disability. The latest Government research, which was published a couple of months ago, shows that 55 per cent of children in one parent families live in poverty.
Those programmes include the European social fund, the European regional development fund, the new deal, the new futures fund—which is run by Scottish Enterprise—and a raft of other training programmes.
