Until recently, the Lord Advocate could not appeal the point of principle on an acquittal. Now he can appeal the point of principle to establish what the law should be, although that will not change the outcome.
I strongly recommend that we take that route. I cannot comment on the second point, not being a lawyer, but I certainly support the first point made by Christine Grahame.
Why should we have a postcode lottery? John Swinney's central point— Swinburne. John Swinburne's point about the importance of swimming for older people is correct—I very much agree with him.
