Had the order been presented to the committee earlier, the committee would have been able to consider it before the recess. We should make those points to the Executive. As I was involved with adoptions when I was in private practice, I know that they are a minefield at the best of times.

The First Minister's answer might make some sense if he had not sacked a minister for voting against Trident in this Parliament. He talks about consistency, but is it not the case that no one can believe a word the First Minister says?
