We especially welcome the creation of the new commission because our members tell us that there is great variation across Scotland in how local authorities deal with private nurseries.
More specifically, the minister said in her statement that the care commission would visit and write to all care homes in the short term and that there would be fire brigade visits outwith daytime hours.
Could we stick to the report on the visit to Wales? We arrived in Wales at a strange time, with the Lib Dems and the Labour party having just established a new Cabinet.
Not only are they good for Scottish businesspeople who go abroad, they are good for people from overseas; they are good not only for those who want to come to do business here, but for those who want to visit us. Our tourism industry has done well out of the development of many new routes.
I hope that OSCR will ensure that appropriate inquiries can be made into such matters in future, and I offer amendment 26 to the Parliament as a way to ensure that that can happen.I move amendment 26.

I cannot, at this stage, give any commitment to visiting schools in Lockerbie, but I am considering the possibility of including them in a future programme of visits.
