Sheila Keith from the Shetland Fishermen’s Association spoke of how transparency is ensured in regional marine planning in Shetland: “[…] anybody who was involved had to set out clearly why they wanted to be involved in the management process, in terms of who they represent, their aims and objectives, their governance and their transparency on funding, and so on. That is imperative when community groups and people who say they have a social interest are involved in fisheries management.
