Ministers have received representations from various stakeholders expressing concerns and seeking further engagement about the proposal to bring the Mental Welfare Commission into a new scrutiny body. Ministers are considering how these representations can be addressed in the proposed changes.

The mechanism for the creation of the new scrutiny bodies will be the legislative provisions included in the Public Services Reform Bill which it is now proposed will be introduced to Parliament in May this year.

To ask the Scottish Executive what progress has been made with the development of the Scottish Crime Campus and when it expects the new facility to be operational. The land has been acquired, the necessary site investigations carried out and the design team is working closely with all partners to create a unique and innovative facility.
