This shows that in 2001 (the latest year available), Scottish GDP wasestimated to be £69.2 billion at current basic prices, resulting in an averageGDP per head of £13,660.
He has tried to ensure that the issue does not slip away when the news coverage moves on but remains for all time as part of the political agenda that we all buy into.
Transport must be part of that picture and we need to plan now for rational and sustainable ways to manage demand and offer people real transport choices. We have new policies, new powers and now new resources.
