The set up cost is £40,000; running costs are negligible.The allocation of Scottish Candidate Numbers to all pupils from primary 1 onwardswill be completed by June 2006.

Since the enactment of theCriminal Procedure (Amendment) (Scotland) Act 2004 on 1 April 2005 there have been 109extensions granted by the High Court in respect of the 140 day time limit,relating to 66 indictments.
