I am sure that John Swinney, Mrs Scanlon and Miss Goldie value those efforts. It is relevant to point out, however, that there are many issues that we all considered to be more pressing and more worthy of debate than the Y2K problem.

I was in the joint working group. The key point that came out of it was the need for honesty and to manage people's expectations about what is available.
