Before we go into private session, I remind everyone that the next meeting of the committee will be on 26 October, by which time some of us will have had the advantage of visiting Sweden and Finland to find out about child care and early years provision in those countries.
We are hoping to discuss the first draft of our stage 1 report on 30 May and approve it the following week, at the latest. That will be in plenty of time for stage 2, which is scheduled for 29 June.I thank the minister and her officials.
Already, more than 50 per cent of our children walk to school and the latest figures, which are for 2002, show the highest level—56 per cent—since the Scottish Parliament was created in 1999.
