Our next meeting is 21 December, so I doubt that we will have a response by then, but we could write with some urgency. Even with the best will in the world, a fortnight's turnaround for a response from the Executive would be asking a lot.
The letter from the deputy minister points out that legitimate public concerns about the siting and design of masts are material planning considerations that can be taken into account when determining applications.
If we have bits of business to discuss, it is better to keep that discussion short, sharp and to the point and to get it out of the way. I hope that all committees will consider that recommendation.
I thought that it would be useful to bring that point to the committee's attention.The other two points that I will concentrate on are the obvious ones.
I do not know how much detail he wanted, but page 26 of the consultation document spells out exactly what the proposed bandings are and page 27 explains what the consultation is about.
